London-based distributor Scorpion TV is taking five docufilms to Mipcom next week, including For the Money: Three Spectacular Art Fraud Cases.
Commissioned by 3sat in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, the 1×52’ doc exposes three major cases of art fraud and is directed by Stefan Stuckert.
The doc is joined by My Husband the Cyborg (1×93’), where a woman documents her husband’s journey into transhumanism, and Cabala Media’s Frozen in Time: The Sacred Child of the Incas (1×52’ / 1×69’), which uncovers the story of an Inca mummy.
Completing the line-up are Breaking Boundaries (1×52’ / 1×76’), about Team USA’s only black rhythmic gymnast Nastasya Generalova, and My Five Year Plan (1×58’ / 1×75’), which follows three young Chinese women navigating modern life over seven years.
Meanwhile, Scorpion TV has made several sales ahead of Mipcom, including My Five Year Plan to global VoD platform Deutsche Welle, Better off Dead? (1×60’) to RTP3 in Portugal and TV3 in Spain, Siyaya Africa (39×26’) to RTP Africa, Psychedelia (1×58’) and The Great European Space Launch (1×47’) to ZDF in Germany and Real Kashmir FC (1×57’) to Fox in the US.
Other sales are Wild Slovakia with Nigel Marven (1×50’) and New England’s Wildlife Wonders (1×52’) to SBS in Australia and RTL Geo in Germany, with the latter also acquiring Scary Tales of New York (6×60’), The World’s Biggest Family (1×43’) to Austria’s ORF, and Oppenheimer: After Trinity (1×58’) and Tactical Empathy (1×52’) to Axess in Sweden.
Finally, Sonar in Ukraine has acquired Scary Tales of New York, Oppenheimer: After Trinity, Wild Slovakia with Nigel Marven, Can Hypnosis Fix Your Life (1×52’) and Siyaya Africa.
